Building Midland’s Future, One Plan at a Time

Listen to this article

Master planning isn’t just paperwork. It’s how your Council turns community priorities into real infrastructure, services, and investment decisions for years to come.

Over this term, Council has completed or advanced several major plans that guide how Midland grows:

🌊 Waterfront Master Plan (approved February 2026), setting direction for trails, parks, and shoreline stewardship along Midland Bay
🏗️ Asset Management Plan (2025), guiding how we invest in and maintain the infrastructure residents rely on every day
🎡 Tourism Strategy (2026), a five-year roadmap for how Midland grows and promotes tourism
🧭 2023–2026 Strategic Plan (adopted May 2023), the roadmap that has guided Council’s priorities and budget decisions this entire term

And the work continues: the Parks, Trails & Recreation Master Plan is now underway and will shape recreation in Midland through 2036.

We’re also asking residents to help shape the next 25 years through the Community Vision: Midland 2050 survey. Your input feeds directly into the planning work ahead.
