New Public Boat Launch Rates

New fees for Midland’s public boat launch take effect this spring. Residents can get a seasonal pass for $100 or pay a discounted (50%) rate for occasional use. Non residents will pay per use and the funds will help pay for maintenance and upkeep of this busy public asset.

Boat slip fees at the town Marina are now being tied to the rate of inflation (which is beyond Midland’s control) that we all must pay for goods and services.

UPDATE: Since sharing this bit of our agenda today I’ve spent the day fielding calls and chatting with folks. While most have no issue charging non residents to use our services, I’m persuaded that we should keep this free for our residents. I will make attempts to get council to support this change on Wednesday. I’ll need four more votes. Please send me some help.

Check out the staff report on this Wednesday’s agenda for all changes to fees/rates approved in the 2022 budget. https://midland.civicweb.net/document/35018
