Thank You Midland

I am humbled and honoured that you have placed your faith in me as your mayor for the next four years. In addition you have built a strong and diverse new council to join with me in serving you.

I am excited to work with Jack Contin as Deputy Mayor, and councillors Beth Prost, Roberta Bald, Jamie-Lee Ball, Catherine MacDonald, Bill Meridis, Jim Downer and Sheldon East.

Some of the talented team you’ve sent to Council 2022-2026. Jamie-Lee Ball, Jack Contin, Bill Gordon, Beth Prost and Bill Meridis.

I’d also like to recognize the efforts of the other candidates who all campaigned with the passion that draws each of us to public service. I invite them to help serve Midland in other ways such as on our many committees and boards where their skills and dedication can help build a better Midland in equally meaningful ways.

While my list of supporters in our community is long and diverse, I owe the largest gratitude to my loving and supportive wife of 27 years, Donna. She endures the busy life that comes with Municipal public service and has been my compass in stormy seas over the past term, and for over 30 years.

My goals remains to lead a collegial team founded on mutual respect, to lead by example and to leverage all the unique skills, passions and attributes that each of our new councillors bring to the table. We have lots of work to do and some tough decisions to make together in the coming days.

Thank you for your support, the many well-wishes and the faith that you have placed in me. I will continue to earn it as we work together to make Midland a more safe, affordable, vibrant and thriving community.

As always, please stay engaged and continue to offer your advice, ideas and critique to Council. We are all equally invested in positive outcomes for our community and the key is collaboration.

Warm regards to each of you,

Bill
